🌿 Build a Scent Ritual at Home 🌿
Laundry day doesn't have to end at the machine.
At MOAM, we don't just make what goes in the wash — we think about the whole ritual around it. The scent that lingers in a drawer. The way a room feels when you walk in. The small, repeatable moments that turn an ordinary task into something you actually look forward to.
This guide is a starting point: a handful of simple, considered ways to carry that feeling beyond the wash and into the rest of your home.

How to build a scent ritual at home
Each idea below is simple enough to start today. Pick one, or work through all five.
01
Scent the drawer, not just the fabric

- Fold a small linen sachet, or a few cotton pads with your chosen oil, into the corner of the drawer.
- Refresh with 2–3 drops of oil every 1–2 weeks — that's all it takes.
- Keep it in the drawer you want scented longest (bedding, loungewear) rather than spreading thin across every drawer.
02
Turn the airing cupboard into a scent reservoir

- Place one small sachet, or a few drops of oil on a cotton pad, tucked on a shelf — not directly touching linen.
- Because everything passes through this cupboard, one point of scent quietly carries through towels, sheets, and spares.
- Top up monthly. It's a "set and forget" step, not a routine.
03
Bring it into the room

- Make a simple room mist: a small spray bottle, water, a splash of vodka or witch hazel to help disperse it, and a few drops of your oil.
- Mist lightly at the doorway or over the bed, not directly onto fabric — the aim is ambient scent, not a soaked pillow.
- Best timing: just before you make the bed, or a few minutes before you get in it at night.
04
Build a two-minute wind-down

- Pick one trigger — fresh sheets night, or every Sunday evening.
- Open the window for 2–3 minutes to clear the air first.
- Mist the room, then close the window. That's the whole ritual — no extra steps needed.
- Do it at the same time each time; repetition is what makes it feel automatic rather than effortful.
05
Let one scent do double duty

- Choose a single oil blend you already love.
- Use it in the wash, the drawer sachet, and the room mist — the same scent, three touchpoints.
- Avoid layering different scents in the same space; one consistent note reads as considered, three competing ones read as clutter.
This is what "ritual" means to us — not doing more, but doing the few things you already love, on purpose.
